About Mrs Andrea MacDonald

I am a qualified psychiatric nurse with 13 years experience who
is currently working in the education sector. Over the past three years, working with teachers, I have developed a mental health workshop to introduce children to the concept of mental health awareness.

The new Curriculum for Excellence prioritises emotional health and well being and this workshop has been designed to achieve
the main outcomes required.

These sessions use a power point presentation, group work and
discussion to explore ways of keeping healthy. They are aimed at the upper
stages P6-7 and are easily done in the class area.

If your staff are looking for ideas on how to tackle this subject or would just like some extra talking points for project work, these are ideal building blocks for more in depth discussion.
